Skin Needling Aftercare
What to Expect
Skin inflammation and redness typically subside within 24 to 48 hours after your microneedling treatment. You can resume normal activities a few hours after your session.
First 24–48 Hours
DO
- Follow all instructions provided by your clinician
- Use only non-comedogenic products recommended by your practitioner
- Keep your face bare for up to 48 hours to avoid irritation or side effects
- Apply sunscreen SPF 15 or higher if going outdoors
DO NOT
- Apply skincare products, cosmetics, or sunscreen for the first 24–48 hours (unless directed by your clinician)
- Use alcohol-based toners or skincare products
- Use products containing peeling ingredients such as salicylic acid, glycolic acid, or TCA acid
- Use products containing hydroquinone
- Expose skin to prolonged sunlight — pores remain open for several hours to days post-treatment
General Aftercare Guidelines
- Be extra gentle with your skin and follow your clinician’s skincare routine to the letter
- Avoid scheduling other in-clinic treatments (laser peels, microdermabrasion, laser therapy) while your skin is still healing
- Use sunscreen SPF 15+ whenever outdoors
- Ongoing maintenance may include at-home skin needling and the use of Dp Dermaceuticals skincare products to support collagen and elastin development — as recommended by your clinician
Important Notes
- Microneedling treatment typically requires multiple sessions over 8 to 12 weeks for best results
- Always follow the specific instructions provided by your clinician for your individual skin concern
