What is dry skin?
Dry skin tends to be flaky, dull, scaly and rough. Those with dry skin usually have built up dead skin cells on the surface.
Dry skin can vary in severity, from a mild dryness to cracked, broken skin. It may also be mistaken for dehydrated skin as both can look and feel very similar. Some skins may even fall into the category of both dry and dehydrated. Dehydrated skin feels tight, sometimes itchy, cracked and uncomfortable. Fine lines and wrinkles will usually become more noticeable, as dehydrated skin is lacking water.
What may impact dry/ dehydrated skin?
Dry/ dehydrated skin may be impacted by hormones, medications, diet, lifestyle, environment and genetics. Both of these skin types usually are a result of cold/ windy weather or lack of moisture in the air.
What can you do to prevent and improve dry skin?
