What is acne?
Acne occurs when a hair follicle is blocked by oil, bacteria and dead skin. It can vary from mild congestion to severe cysts. There are form of acne. Congestion in the skin appears as whiteheads, blackheads, pustules (pimples), papules, cysts and nodules.

What causes and impacts acne?
Acne may be impacted by hormones, medications, diet, lifestyle, environment and genetics.

What can you do to prevent and improve acne?
Preventing acne can be difficult. It is a skin condition that needs to be targeted from the inside out. Using ingredients that exfoliate dead skin cells, support the skins barrier functions, prepare skin for product absorption and increase cell turnover. 

  • Take a holistic approach. A healthy gut and diet may assist in treating acne. A diet high in EFA's, low sugar and inflammatory foods may assist in the treatment of acne.
  • Have a high-quality cosmeceutical skin care routine and be consistent with it. Ensure you are using the appropriate ingredients for acne.
  • Check your medication with your doctor for any side effects. Some medications may impact the severity of acne.
