Lab Cleansers 101

Jul 6, 2020

There are many types of cleansing products to choose from, ranging from foaming, gel, oil or milk. Some foaming or gel cleansers may give you a tight or dry feeling after use, this is due to stripping agents and soaps in the formulation to create the foam. Although some people enjoy the “clean” feeling, it is actually doing more harm than good for the skin.

When the formulation of Lab Cleansing Foam was created, this was kept in mind to ensure the cleanser still gave an ultra-clean feeling, without stripping the skins natural oils. As a result, an organic coconut agent is used to deeply cleanse while avoiding any stripping of the skin. Cucumber Extract is added to our Lab formulation for additional hydrating, firming and soothing benefits.

Cleansing oils can be looked over in the industry as some people worry they can cause excess oil production. However, it does quite the opposite. Oil attracts oil; therefore, it works as a solvent to loosen excess oil, makeup and congestion. It also ensures your skin doesn’t go into an overdrive of oil production due to being stripped from other agents typically in cleansers.

We recommend using both types of cleansers for best results; known as double cleansing. Pre-cleansing with an oil cleanser allows the skin to be flushed with hydration while loosening congestion, topical makeup and oil. Following with a non-stripping foaming cleanser will ensure a deep yet gentle cleanse into the pores.
